KTMB mohon maaf petugas lewat buka pintu Stesen Anak Bukit

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) has apologized to station personnel after the gates at Anak Bukit station in Alor Setar were left open, forcing passengers to climb a railing to board the train this morning. The incident occurred when the gates, which were supposed to open at 5:30 AM, failed to close properly due to an employee's health concern.

When it was discovered around 5:55 AM that the gates were still open, station staff attempted to contact the relevant personnel, but were unsuccessful. A train attendant from a nearby station, scheduled to arrive earlier at 7 AM, took action and arrived at 6:30 AM, allowing the main gate to open just in time. The incident affected approximately 25 passengers who missed two KTM Komuter services, namely trains 2901 and 2903, originally scheduled to depart at 5:58 AM and 6:18 AM.

KTMB expressed serious concern over the situation, as timely access to the station is crucial for maintaining punctuality and ensuring passenger comfort. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the incident, and appropriate actions will be taken based on established procedures. KTMB remains committed to prioritizing passenger safety, convenience, and well-being.
