KTMB mohon maaf petugas lewat buka pintu Stesen Anak Bukit

On Saturday morning, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) expressed regret over the delay in opening the entrance gates at Stesen Anak Bukit, Alor Setar. A video showed passengers being forced to climb a fence to board a train. The incident occurred when a train departed from Alor Setar on Saturday morning. KTMB stated that the station was supposed to start operating at 5:30 am, but due to a health issue affecting one of its staff members, the entrance gate was opened late.

After being informed at 5:55 am that the station's entrance gate was still closed, staff attempted to contact the relevant personnel, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Consequently, a station attendant from a nearby station scheduled to report at 7 am arrived earlier at 6:30 am to open the entrance gate. Approximately 25 passengers missed two KTM Komuter services, namely trains 2901 and 2903, which were scheduled to depart at 5:58 am and 6:18 am, respectively.

KTMB emphasized the seriousness of the incident due to the importance of timely station access to ensure the punctuality of early morning services. An ongoing investigation is being conducted to determine the cause of the incident, and the appropriate actions will be taken according to the established procedures. KTMB remains committed to ensuring the safety, convenience, and interests of passengers remain their top priority.
