Tyson Fury has declared his intention to defeat Anthony Joshua within seven rounds during their highly anticipated December 11 bout in Cardiff, referring to the fight as a "stepping stone" towards a future trilogy with Ukrainian champion Oleksandr Usyk, according to PUNCH Sports Extra. Speaking for the first time since the fight's confirmation, Fury confidently predicted a one-sided victory, emphasizing his desire to "box the head off him" and stop Joshua inside six or seven rounds.

He dismissed Joshua's chances, calling him "short of the speed and stamina needed to trouble me" and a "weightlifter" lacking speed and cardio. Fury also criticized Joshua for turning down a face-off at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in April, suggesting he had "his chance" but declined. The fight's negotiations had previously broken down, but Fury expressed renewed optimism after the announcement, viewing the opportunity to face Joshua as "Christmas has come early."
