Sun Siyam Pasikudah celebrates World Tourism Day with culture, cuisine and community

Sun Siyam Pasikudah, a resort belonging to the Privé Collection and operated by Maldivian-owned Sun Siyam Resorts, will honor World Tourism Day on September 27, 2026. The resort's celebrations will take place in Sri Lanka's eastern coastal region and will encompass the island's rich culture, cuisine, and natural beauty, alongside community-focused sustainability activities.

The festivities commence with a special buffet featuring authentic Sri Lankan dishes, followed by a street food festival displaying unique regional snacks and traditional sweets that are typically absent from resort menus. Throughout the day, guests will have the opportunity to sample a signature World Tourism Day mocktail and cocktail specially crafted for the event. Additionally, traditional Sri Lankan cultural dance performances will enliven the island's heritage for the resort's visitors.

Beyond the festivities, Sun Siyam Pasikudah has organized several activities in collaboration with its guests. A tree planting event will be held to contribute to the resort's ongoing commitment to responsible tourism along Sri Lanka's northeast coast. Furthermore, a beach or park clean-up campaign will be conducted, allowing guests to actively participate in preserving the environment and promoting sustainable practices.
