In Grünheide, Tesla is now employing security personnel to protect its employees and shuttle bus drivers on the most heavily used shuttle routes to the factory. Security personnel have been on duty since this week and are expected to remain for a few weeks, according to Works Director André Thierig at a staff meeting on Thursday. The security forces are tasked with protecting staff and bus drivers.

In addition to the main connection to the Fangschleuse train station, Tesla has also introduced an extra shuttle bus, hiring two more drivers for this purpose. Following initial reports from employees in internal chats about overcrowded buses, congestion, and skirmishes at the bus stops, a shuttle heading to Berlin even had a window shatter. One employee wrote, "Let's put some security on again, at least they can help maintain some order."

The issue had gone unanswered in a previous interview with the Handelsblatt newspaper. Internally, the company had drafted a security concept. Thierig said the matter had "exploded" in an internal chat and had even made it into the newspaper. He wished the Handelsblatt "nice greetings."
