Cocoa producer price increased to GHC42,400 per tonne for 2026/2027 season

COCOBOD has raised the price of cocoa from GHC41,392 to GHC42,400 per tonne for the 2026/2027 cocoa season. The new price, effective from September 25, 2026, accounts for 71.18% of the realized gross free-on-board (FOB) value of cocoa. This increase results in a producer price of GHC2,650 per 64kg bag of cocoa. The decision was reached after discussions among COCOBOD and other major stakeholders regarding the producer price and associated rates and fees for the upcoming cocoa season.

Randy Abbey, COCOBOD's CEO, announced this change at a press conference. He stated that the price may be revisited if market conditions or other relevant factors necessitate a review. If such a review is deemed necessary, the stakeholders will reconvene to assess the situation; the price could be adjusted upwards or kept the same, depending on the factors evaluated by the stakeholders.
