2027: ‘Only God, Tinubu know what will happen in presidential election’ — Galadima

Nigeria's Democratic Congress spokesperson, Buba Galadima, has stated that only God and President Bola Tinubu have insight into the outcome of the 2027 presidential election. Galadima made these remarks during a discussion on Channels Television's Politics Today program, where he addressed the opposition party's plans for the forthcoming poll and the potential pairing of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as its presidential ticket.

When questioned about the election's fairness, Galadima expressed skepticism, citing the presence of "criminals and fraudsters" as reasons to doubt the process. He further alleged that opposition politicians have faced coordinated attacks, mentioning incidents involving Obi supporters in Benue State and a Kaduna ADC governorship candidate.

Despite these concerns, Galadima maintained confidence in the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket, asserting that both candidates would triumph if the election were conducted freely and transparently. He emphasized that the ticket would prioritize national unity, public trust in governance, and security if it were to win the election. Galadima also questioned the reported interactions between Tinubu and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), suggesting that the opposition lacked clarity on the nature of these engagements.

Furthermore, he criticized academics who publicly backed Tinubu, arguing that they should not be involved in the electoral process due to their declared support for a specific candidate. Galadima affirmed that the NDC's approach would not rely on a single opposition candidate against Tinubu, as the party has transcended the stage where separate parties could field a joint candidate.
