UP businessman planned a hit job on father, then framed wife for murder: Cops

The Kanpur pharmaceutical businessman, Vineet Minocha, faced a shocking turn in his murder case on Thursday. Police have arrested his son, Subrat, who is accused of hiring men to kill his father and attempting to blame it on his wife. The motive behind the alleged crime appears to be resentment over Vineet's controlling nature and Subrat's mounting personal debt.

Vineet was found dead in his apartment on September 6, having been stabbed 26 times. His daughter-in-law, Shalu, and two men, Vishal Gautam and Raj Kishore, were initially arrested in connection with the murder. The investigation revealed that Subrat was deeply in debt, with a loan amounting to around Rs 40 lakh. He had been stealing from the pharmacy and blamed his father for scolding him in front of staff.

Subrat reportedly planned to kill his father, hiring Vishal to carry out the act. He then allegedly framed Shalu for the murder. Subrat admitted to giving Vishal the key to the house and helping him enter under the alias 'Shubham.' Shalu, Vishal, and Raj Kishore are currently under 24-hour police custody remand.
