Umno’s empty vessels only making loud noises

Umno's recent success in the state elections of Johor and Negeri Sembilan may not be a sign of a resurgence in the party's strength. Fourthly, the party's involvement in the Negeri Sembilan royal crisis could lead to accusations of betrayal, potentially alienating it from PAS and other potential partners.

Fifth, Umno's reluctance to withdraw from the unity government suggests a fear of losing power and influence. Finally, PAS is likely to abandon Umno if it leaves the government before a general election, as PAS has shown a tendency to align with parties that have money and power.
