Dallas Mavericks are optimistic for the upcoming 2026-2027 NBA season, thanks to their young star Cooper Flagg. NBA insider Brian Windhorst has compared Flagg to basketball legend LeBron James, who similarly excelled in his second season. Windhorst stated, "By LeBron’s second season, he was a top-five player, and I feel strongly that this is Flagg’s destiny too."
Flagg was drafted as the number one pick by the Mavericks in 2025 and quickly made an impact, averaging 21.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game in his debut season. His exceptional skills include being a versatile player and a strong defensive presence. In his offseason, Flagg has been working hard under the guidance of trainer Matt MacKenzie, building rapport with new head coach Dusty May and returning player Kyrie Irving. With Flagg’s potential growth, the Mavericks are excited about their prospects for the next season.
