Live: Iran's President says US ‘must choose’ whether to end war

Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian stated on Fox News that it is up to the United States to decide whether to end its war in Iran. Speaking at the UN on Wednesday, Pezeshkian took a firm stance, insisting that Iran is not willing to continue the conflict. Despite US President Donald Trump acknowledging ongoing US-Iran talks, Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran would not back down, even in the face of instigations from Israel.

He argued that they do not wish to continue the war, and the responsibility lies with America to choose whether they want to end it or not.

Pezeshkian also expressed Iran's readiness to reach a deal with Trump to put an end to the conflict. He questioned why, within two weeks of a shaky ceasefire, the deal was abandoned. Pezeshkian stated that if the current American government, within international legal frameworks, wishes to reach an agreement, that would be acceptable. However, he added that if not, it wouldn't matter to Iran whether this happens before or after the US midterm elections.
