NAGOYA, Japan, September 24 (Yonhap) -- South Korea defeated Indonesia 101-59 in a quarterfinal matchup at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games to secure their place in the women's basketball semifinals. The game took place at the Aichi International Arena in Nagoya. Seven South Korean players scored in double figures, with team captain Kang Lee-seul contributing 11 points and making three three-pointers.

The victory sets the stage for South Korea's semifinal clash against two-time defending champion China, which will also take place at the same venue on Friday. Prior to the semifinals, South Korea will face the team that defeats Mongolia in Friday's other quarterfinal match. Coach Park Soo-ho expressed satisfaction with his team's performance, noting that they capitalized on fast breaks in the second half to secure the win.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining their quick transitions and shooting accuracy against China. Team captain Kang Lee-seul added that defense will be a key focus, acknowledging the men's team's success as motivation for the women's squad.
