Kow Essuman confident NPP will reclaim Ablekuma West ‘with a huge margin’

Former legal advisor to ex-President Nana Akufo-Addo, Kow Essuman, expressed confidence on Tuesday that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will regain control of the Ablekuma West parliamentary seat in the 2028 general election. Essuman, who is campaigning to become the NPP's parliamentary candidate for the 2028 election, told a gathering in the constituency that the party would secure a "huge margin" in the seat, which was lost to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 parliamentary election.

The 2024 election saw the NDC's Kweku Addo receiving 31,866 votes compared to the NPP's Ursula Owusu-Ekuful's 26,575 votes. Essuman's interaction with party members is part of his strategy to gain support for his parliamentary bid as the NPP prepares for the upcoming general election. During the meeting, he discussed the party's potential in the constituency and his determination to represent the NPP on the parliamentary ballot.

Furthermore, Essuman has voiced his backing for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP's presidential candidate for 2028, stating that Ghana needs Bawumia's intellect to tackle the nation's challenges.
