Bersatu tidak akan solo hadapi Melaka, kata Tun Faisal

(Illustration by Bernama) PELANGI JAYA: Bersatu seeks to participate in the elections in collaboration with other parties, with discussions ongoing at the national and state levels, according to his briefing.

Ahead of the PRN, which must be held within 60 days of the dissolution of the Melaka State Legislative Assembly on September 23, Tun Faisal informed that Bersatu would not contest alone in the Melaka polls. As declared by Bersatu's President Muhyiddin Yassin, the party will join either other parties or existing coalition parties.

At this juncture, the process of discussion is still underway in states and at the central level, including in Melaka, he informed Berita Harian. The timeline for the cooperation talks remains unspecified by Tun Faisal. On September 19, Muhyiddin publicly confirmed that Bersatu had met with several political parties to discuss the formation of a new political bloc to face the 2016 general elections. This announcement came after the suspension of cooperation between Bersatu and PAS since June.
