Firm confirms arrest of two suspected transformer vandals in Anambra

FirstPower Electricity Distribution Company Limited has confirmed the arrest of two men suspected of vandalizing a transformer at the Urunkpuke Distribution Substation in Nimo, Anambra State. The suspects, Nonso Okolodile and Emeka Onyeugwo, were apprehended by the Nimo Vigilante Group following a report from the company's Feeder Manager.

The transformer, a critical electricity distribution asset, was one of several affected by vandalism in the area, causing disruptions to electricity supply and incurring significant costs for the distribution system. FirstPower thanked the vigilante group for their role in apprehending the suspects and emphasized the serious nature of transformer vandalism.

The company urged residents to report suspicious activities around electricity infrastructure to ensure the protection of its distribution network.
