Firm confirms arrest of two suspected transformer vandals in Anambra

FirstPower Electricity Distribution Company Limited has confirmed the arrest of two men suspected of vandalising a transformer at the Urunkpuke Distribution Substation in Nimo, Anambra State. The suspects, Nonso Okolodile and Emeka Onyeugwo, were apprehended by members of the Nimo Vigilante Group following a report from the company's Feeder Manager.

The arrest was reported by the Head of Communications, Izunna Okafor, in a press statement. Both suspects are natives of Nimo and are currently being held at the Nimo Divisional Police Station and are expected to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka for further investigation. The vandalism of transformers disrupts electricity supply and incurs significant costs for the distribution system.
