Ema, a startup founded by Surojit Chatterjee and Souvik Sen in 2023, has raised $77 million in Series B funding to replace enterprise software with AI agents. The funding round was led by Creaegis, with all major existing investors participating and increasing their stakes. This brings Ema's total funding to $140 million.

Ema's AI Employees are not simple chatbots; they are teams of AI agents that collaborate to complete an entire business process. These agents plan tasks, execute steps across 250+ connected enterprise apps, and verify the output. The company targets the money enterprises spend on SaaS and IT services, aiming to replace large software applications with AI Employees that directly handle work.

Ema's revenue has grown 50 times in the past 24 months, with total bookings exceeding $150 million and over 1 million active enterprise users. The platform has secured more than 50 enterprise deals, and customers include industry giants like NTT DATA, Hitachi, ADP, PwC, Google, KPMG, Wipro, and Microsoft. Ema reports a remarkable net dollar retention of 180%, indicating that customers spend more as they adopt more use cases, such as HR, IT, and Finance.

With the latest funding, Ema plans to expand its sales team, increase its presence in APAC and EMEA, and invest more in its enterprise platform to support additional workflows beyond the initial HR, IT, and Finance focus. The company aims to become a replacement layer for traditional enterprise software, emphasizing delivering completed work rather than merely selling more tools.
