Army honours four retiring officers in Kaduna

The Nigerian Army's 1 Division honored four retiring officers during a send-off ceremony held at their auditorium on Wednesday. Major General Abubakar Wase, the General Officer Commanding 1 Division and Commander of Sector 1 Joint Task Force, led the event to acknowledge their years of dedicated service, loyalty, and sacrifice to the nation.

Wase praised the retirees for their "steadfast commitment and invaluable contributions," emphasizing that the ceremony showcased the "deep bond and esprit de corps" among army personnel, transcending rank and file. The General Officer Commanding urged the retirees to wisely invest and manage their retirement benefits as they transition into civilian life, assuring them they would remain part of the Nigerian Army family and encouraged them to maintain ties with the military community.

The retirees honored included Master Warrant Officer Ladi Mustapha, Chief Clerk Oche Sunday, Warrant Officer Obile Mu'azu, and Mr Theophilus Oyagha from 1 Division Finance. Speaking for the retirees, Chief Clerk Oche Sunday expressed gratitude to the GOC and 1 Division leadership for their support throughout their careers, highlighting the invaluable experiences and memories that would shape their next chapter.

The ceremony concluded with the distribution of gifts and souvenirs, along with group photographs to mark their retirement milestone.
