Your ExpressVPN app on Windows, Mac, and Linux just got more flexible and more reliable

ExpressVPN has just released an updated version of their desktop apps for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Version 14.3.1 brings a range of improvements to the software, making it more flexible and reliable. The most significant change is that Advanced Protection, a suite of ad, tracker, and malicious site blockers, now works across all VPN protocols. This means users can enjoy these protections regardless of whether they are using Lightway or Automatic protocol.

Other enhancements include a rebuilt speed test that delivers faster and more accurate results, smarter split tunneling that can run alongside Advanced Protection on Mac, and better reliability fixes across all platforms. For Mac users, a fix has been implemented to prevent Docker containers from disrupting networking, while Windows users can now maintain their VPN connection even when their screen turns off on Modern Standby PCs. Additionally, Linux users benefit from improved Lightway routing and DNS configuration.

Access for users with visual impairments has also been enhanced. Screen readers can now navigate the location list, protocol settings, split tunneling, and auto-connect rules, and the app announces connection status and settings changes. These accessibility improvements follow a visual makeover and a stable MCP server for AI tools introduced in June.

For those already using ExpressVPN, the update should install automatically. If not, users can download the latest build from the ExpressVPN website. The app version, now at 14.3.1, can be checked at the bottom of the sidebar to confirm the update.
