Storm system over East Coast to strengthen into nor'easter, National Weather Service warns

This weekend, significant service adjustments are planned for three Toronto transportation lines: the TTC subway Line 1, GO Transit's Lakeshore East Line, and the Stouffville Line.

With several major events taking place in the city, such as Blue Jays games, concerts, and festivals, some extra planning may be necessary for commuters.

Starting at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, September 25, and lasting until the end of service on Sunday, September 27, Line 1 between Finch and Sheppard-Yonge stations will have no subway service. In its place, shuttle buses will operate to replace the subway service. Subway stations will remain open for passengers to purchase or load a PRESTO card, PRESTO Ticket, and to connect to surface routes.

From Saturday, September 26, through Sunday, September 27, GO Transit will not provide service between Rouge Hill and Danforth GO stations. During this period, GO trains will operate between Durham College Oshawa and Ajax on an hourly schedule. Additionally, GO buses will be running between Ajax and Pickering GO, and then directing passengers to Union Station. Late night service adjustments will also take place on Friday, September 25.

Similarly, the Stouffville Line will see no train service on Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, due to planned construction. Buses will replace trains, providing service from Old Elm to Unionville GO, then continuing directly to Union Station. Commuters heading to Milliken, Agincourt, and Kennedy GO stations should consider TTC options, as there will be no GO services at these stations during the closure.
