Rapid KL's Putrajaya MRT back in service after train brake fault

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 23 — Rapid KL revealed on September 23 that a brake system malfunction on a train at Jalan Ipoh Station led to a disruption on the Putrajaya Line. The operator disclosed the incident in a media statement issued earlier that day. Rapid KL stated it initiated alternative train services to ensure passenger movement continued along the affected portions of the line.

"Technical teams have been dispatched to inspect and repair the affected system," the operator explained. Rapid KL mentioned that police officers and station staff were deployed to aid passengers during the disruption.

The alternative train arrangements put forth by Rapid KL included:

- Trains departing from Kwasa Damansara Station turning back at Jalan Ipoh Station, with five-minute intervals between them

- Trains originating from Hospital Kuala Lumpur Station turning back at Putrajaya Sentral Station, spaced six minutes apart

- A shuttle service running between Kentonmen Station and Hospital Kuala Lumpur Station, with a frequency of seven minutes
