New Patrol and special edition X-Trail leading Nissan South Africa in 2027

Nissan South Africa has announced two new models for the local market in 2027, alongside potential introductions of three more. The Navara, already unveiled at the Tekton launch, will conclude 2026 with a facelift arrival in the fourth quarter. Initially sourced from Thailand after the Rosslyn plant's sale to Chery in April, the Navara will initially feature three trim levels - SE Plus, LE Plus, and Pro-4X - with a 2.5-litre YD25DDTI turbodiesel engine.

The mid-spec LE Plus and flagship Pro-4X will receive an extensive interior refresh. Details on final pricing and specifications will be revealed later. Next up is the Y63 Patrol, set to debut in 2027, with a launch potentially occurring in March or April. Powered by a 3.5-litre VR35DDTT twin-turbo V6, the Patrol will offer 317kW/700Nm, surpassing its 5.6-litre V8 counterpart by 19kW/140Nm.

The X-Trail will also introduce the Rock Creek model, bringing aesthetic and interior changes, albeit no mechanical alterations. The Rock Creek, a first for South Africa, will feature a gloss black grille, black mirror caps, door handles, 18-inch alloy wheels, and Lava Red accents. Reserved for the flagship seven-seat, four-wheel-drive Acenta+, the Rock Creek will retain recent updates and receive additional Lava Red Nissan badge, nylon seat material, orange stitch work, and Rock Creek embroidery.

The South African market Rock Creek will remain largely unchanged, with upcoming pricing details expected soon.
