Microsoft has unveiled two new iterations of its Surface lineup: the 12-inch Surface Pro and the 13-inch Surface Laptop. Both models are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X2 Plus chip and are set to launch on October 13. The smaller Surface Pro gains a 25% brighter display and a 30% more efficient battery in this refresh. An optional 5G model is also being offered, as per customer demand.
The Surface Pro now starts at a price point of $1,149, which is $300 more than the base model, following a significant price increase across the whole lineup in April. The 13-inch Surface Laptop, meanwhile, starts at $1,199, a $50 increase from the previous generation. Both models now come with either 16GB or 24GB of RAM, eliminating the 8GB option, and offer storage options of 256GB or 512GB.
Additionally, Microsoft is introducing a new Surface Mouse with haptic feedback and a customizable Copilot button, priced at $79.99. This accessory will also be available on the launch date. To complement the new devices, Microsoft has also launched a new "Microsoft Ink Canvas" app.
