Meeting between Negeri Sembilan MB, exco and Tunku Nadzaruddin cancelled over safety concerns

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 23 — A meeting between Negeri Sembilan's Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim, state executive councillors and Tunku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja’afar has been cancelled due to safety concerns. Authorities advised organisers to consider the current situation and security factors before making the decision. The meeting, originally planned for 9am at the Tuanku Ja’afar Royal Gallery, would have served as an introductory gathering to strengthen ties between the Menteri Besar, the exco members, and Tunku Nadzaruddin.

Instead, Ismail had breakfast with the exco members and several government assemblymen earlier in the day. Earlier reports had suggested the meeting would be part of a larger ceremony attended by Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, the Tunku Besar Tampin, and Datuk Shahbandar Sungei Ujong. This comes amid increased focus on Negeri Sembilan's constitutional situation following Tuanku Muhriz's decision to revoke the appointments of all 10 exco members. Ismail claims his state executive council remains valid and will continue its duties as usual.
