Lee Ha-sung collects silver in wushu

NAGOYA, Japan — Lee Ha-sung secured the silver medal in wushu at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, marking his second continental competition medal. He earned 19.406 points in the men's daoshu and gunshu events, placing second to Gao Xiaobin of China, who scored 19.582. Malaysia's Clement Su Wei Ting claimed bronze with 19.403 points.

Athletes were judged on three criteria: quality of movements (5.00), overall performance (2.00), and degree of difficulty (2.00). In daoshu, which involved performing a choreographed routine with a single-edged broadsword, Lee finished second with 9.706 points, trailing Gao by 0.080. In gunshu, a rapid-paced event using a staff, Lee achieved a score of 9.700, ranking fourth, while Gao led with 9.796.

This was South Korea's second wushu medal at the Asiad; An Hyeon-gi had claimed bronze in men's taijiquan and taijijian the previous day. Lee also won gold at the 2014 Asiad in South Korea's host city.
