Lagos seals church, hotels, businesses over environmental violations

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) sealed 12 establishments, including a church and hotels, due to repeated violations of environmental regulations. This enforcement action was taken on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, in response to persistent infractions across various areas of Lagos State. The establishments sealed include Thrillz Lounge on Odusanmi Street in Ogba, which was cited for noise pollution and non-compliance with LASEPA's directives.

Marvel Hotel & Suites on Chrisbee Crescent, BRT Bus Stop, in Igando, was sealed for noise pollution and failure to comply with agency rules. Keviz Hotel & Suites on Councilor Ajayi Street, Obadore Bus Stop, in LASU-Iba Road, was sealed for obstructing traffic and non-compliance with environmental laws. Limas on Aro-Oloye Street, off Abaranje Road, in Ikotun, was closed for non-compliance with the agency's directives.

The General Manager of LASEPA, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, emphasized the agency's dedication to safeguarding public health and the environment. He urged business owners, facility operators, religious institutions, scrap dealers, and residents to adopt environmentally responsible practices, obtain all necessary permits, comply with environmental regulations, and cooperate with LASEPA in the pursuit of a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Lagos.
