Lagos seals church, hotels, businesses over environmental violations

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed 12 establishments, including a church and hotels, due to persistent violations of environmental regulations. The enforcement exercise took place on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, across various areas of Lagos State, including Ogba, Idimu-Ikota, Ejigbo, LASU-Iba Road, Igando, and Agodo-Egbe.

LASEPA stated that despite multiple warning notices, the establishments continued to violate environmental laws, leading to the sealing of these facilities. Thrillz Lounge in Ogba was sealed for noise pollution and non-compliance with directives. Feixiang Plastic, located along LASU-Ojo Road, was also sealed for failing to comply with the Agency’s directives.

Marvel Hotel & Suites on Chrisbee Crescent, Igando, was closed due to noise pollution and non-compliance. Keviz Hotel & Suites on Councilor Ajayi Street, LASU-Iba Road, was sealed for obstruction of duty and non-compliance. DSN Hotel & Suites on Benson Onyeacholen Street, O’Mark Bus Stop, LASU-Igando Road, was sealed for non-compliance.

Rudaj Vegetable Oil on Tanimowo Street, Igando Road, was sealed for non-compliance. Celestial Church of Christ (Aduragbemi Parish) on Adetola Buhari Street, Ikotun, was closed for noise pollution and non-compliance. LASEPA's General Manager, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, emphasized the agency’s commitment to protecting public health and preserving the environment.

He urged businesses, facility operators, religious institutions, scrap dealers, and residents to embrace environmentally responsible practices, obtain necessary permits, and comply with environmental regulations.
