I’ve never come across a woman that strong – Baffour Awuah recounts botched EOCO arrest

Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, the Manhyia South MP, recounted a recent tense encounter with a woman who demanded he be taken to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) following a court proceeding. Speaking on Joy News’ PM Express, Awuah expressed his surprise at the woman's strength, stating, "I’ve never come across a woman that strong before."

The woman held his wrist so tightly that Awuah had to wriggle free. Despite his offer to drive her to EOCO, she refused, insisting on arresting him instead. When Awuah asked for identification to confirm her affiliation with EOCO, the woman could not provide any. Awuah suspected that he might be targeted in an illegal kidnapping, convincing himself that it was a state-sponsored kidnapping.

He stated that he was ready to proceed to EOCO if they followed the proper process. Awuah rejected accusations of fleeing to Parliament to avoid a lawful arrest, insisting that he was seeking sanctuary against kidnappers.
