GES transfers funds to SHSs for perishables and recurring items

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has moved money to Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs) to pay for food that quickly goes bad and regular items for students in their first year of high school for the first half of the 2025/2026 school year, which runs from March 1 to September 4, 2026. A press release on September 23 said the GES leaders confirmed that the money had been put into the accounts of the schools that were supposed to receive it.

The Regional Directors have been told to let each school's principal know about the money transfers so they can keep track of it. The GES also reminded school leaders to give official receipts for the money they get to the Director-General through their local accountants. The GES wants the Regional Directors and school principals to follow this order and said they trust them to keep working together.

"It is important that the heads of Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools send the official receipts of the money they received to the Director General through their Regional Accountants," the statement ended.
