GES releases funds to SHSs for perishables and recurring expenses

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has disbursed funds to Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools to cover expenses for perishable items between March 1 and September 4, 2026, along with partial payments for recurring expenditures for first-year students for the 2025/2026 academic year. On September 23, 2026, GES issued a directive to Regional Directors to communicate these payments to the heads of SHSs and Senior High Technical Schools.

These funds have been deposited into the respective school accounts as per the GES. The transfer of funds is part of GES's initiative to aid schools in fulfilling their financial commitments. GES Director-General Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis emphasized the importance of the payments in supporting schools. The letter directed all concerned parties to cooperate by submitting official receipts for the received funds to the Director-General through their respective Regional Accountants.
