Focus on Kano, stop insulting Benue people, Alia’s aide tells Kwankwaso

The Chief Press Secretary to the Benue State Governor, Tersoo Kula, has urged former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, to concentrate on political issues within Kano and refrain from insulting the people of Benue. Kula criticized Kwankwaso's recent remarks, calling them "unfortunate and unwarranted insults" that hindered constructive political dialogue.

Kwankwaso had previously criticized Benue Governor Hyacinth Alia for allowing Peter Obi's visit to Benue and for his relationship with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume. Responding to Kwankwaso's comments, Kula asserted that the Benue Government understood the source of Kwankwaso's "misplaced grudge" against Alia, which stemmed from Obi's unauthorized visit to Benue.

Kula further alleged that the controversy surrounding Obi's visit was fabricated by people seeking to tarnish Alia's image. Kula emphasized that Alia was elected by the Benue people, whose mandate should be respected regardless of political differences. The Benue Government had previously denied knowledge of Obi's visit, and the police were investigating the blockade incident that involved 46 individuals.

Kula also faulted Kwankwaso for commenting on the relationship between Alia and Akume, urging him to focus on political issues in Kano instead. He concluded by urging Kwankwaso to stop insulting the people of Benue, as they were capable of judging their government and determining their political future.
