Ex-NFL star Antonio Brown to accept plea deal on attempted murder charge, his lawyer says

Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown is set to accept a plea deal on an attempted murder charge in Miami, according to his lawyer, Mark Eiglarsh. The plea deal avoids prison time for Brown, who faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted. The incident occurred after a celebrity boxing match in Miami on May 16, 2025, where Brown allegedly grabbed a handgun from a security staffer and fired two shots at Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, who was grazed by one of the bullets.

Brown claims he acted in self-defense after a fight with Nantambu and that others were attempting to steal his jewelry. His lawyer stated that Brown believes in his innocence and stands by his Stand Your Ground defense. Brown, 38, had a successful 12-year NFL career, including a Super Bowl championship with Tom Brady, before his career ended in 2021.

He has a history of legal issues, including domestic violence and battery charges. Brown was extradited from Dubai to Miami in November 2025 after an arrest warrant for the attempted murder charge was issued in June 2025.
