Eight Sleep’s new Pod 6 fixes its biggest flaw — the Hub now fits under your bed

Eight Sleep has unveiled the Pod 6, a significant upgrade over previous models that directly addresses two major design flaws. The most prominent improvement is the redesigned central Hub, which now fits under most bed frames, effectively eliminating the need for a bulky tower next to the nightstand. With a sleek, low-profile design, the Hub is virtually hidden, preventing tripping hazards and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of any bedroom.

Beyond the Hub, the Pod 6 boasts numerous technical advancements. It features 18 biometric sensors, a substantial increase from the previous Pod 5's two sensors. These sensors monitor body temperature, heart rate, breathing patterns, and sleep stages with near-medical accuracy, providing unparalleled insights into sleep quality. The Pod 6's AI engine utilizes this data to automatically adjust the bed's temperature throughout the night, ensuring optimal comfort based on individual sleep patterns and environmental factors.

Moreover, the Pod 6 introduces true split-temp controls, allowing each side of the bed to operate independently. Sleepers can customize their side to their preferred temperature, ranging from an icy chill to a cozy warmth, without any temperature crossover. This feature is particularly beneficial for couples with differing temperature preferences.

The Pod 6 also tackles the issue of mattress sizing by offering single-sleeper options: the Pod 6 Solo, priced starting at $1,999, designed for individual sleepers, and the Pod 6 Standard, priced starting at $2,699, suitable for sharing with a partner across various mattress sizes, including Full, Queen, King, and Cal King. Notably, the Pod 6 Standard begins at a lower price point than previous models, making it more accessible to a broader range of consumers.

As with previous models, the Pod 6 requires an Autopilot subscription, starting at $17 per month or $199 per year, to unlock full functionality, including personalized temperature adjustments and warranty protection. The subscription supports two user profiles and extends the base warranty to two years, or five years for higher-tier plans. The Pod 6 is now available for pre-order on the Eight Sleep website.
