CM Yogi Adityanath Govt Pushes Power Grid Upgrade, SLDC Review Ordered For Modernisation

Lucknow, September 23 - The Yogi Adityanath government is dedicated to enhancing the state's power grid infrastructure to guarantee a dependable, secure, and consistent electricity supply throughout Uttar Pradesh. Principal Secretary (Energy) and Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation, Ranveer Prasad, recently undertook a thorough examination of the State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC) in Lucknow. He emphasized the urgent need for modernization of this critical facility.

During his inspection, Ranveer Prasad scrutinized the SLDC's operations, real-time grid monitoring, the SCADA system, and load management processes. He underscored the SLDC's pivotal role in the state's energy system, noting its responsibility in real-time electricity load assessment and forecasting. The SLDC maintains equilibrium between power generation and distribution corporation demands, ensuring grid frequency stability and averting transmission line overloads.

Furthermore, it guarantees rapid restoration post-trip and breakdown incidents, facilitating power distribution via alternative sources. The SLDC also oversees the integration of renewable energy sources and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI).

Looking ahead, the upcoming month is anticipated to pose challenges due to heightened heat and escalating demand. Consequently, Prasad stressed the importance of meticulous load dispatch to prevent overloading and tripping incidents, thereby ensuring uninterrupted power supply for consumers.
