Berlin’s Festival of Lights Returns With After-Dark Additions

Berlin's Festival of Lights is set to return for its 22nd edition from October 9th to 18th, 2026, under the theme "Colours of Love." The festival will illuminate approximately 40 landmarks and public spaces across the city, with 3D video mapping, facade projections, illuminated trees, and light installations running nightly from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Iconic sites like the Brandenburg Gate, Victory Column, Berlin TV Tower, and Oberbaum Bridge will once again host the festival's 3D mapping shows.

Bebelplatz is expected to be one of the busiest spots, featuring installations at the Hotel de Rome, Behren Palais, State Opera, St. Hedwig's Cathedral, and Humboldt University law faculty.

For the first time, the festival will extend into the night with "Festival of Lights Club Nights," a collaboration with OM Consult & Event that brings the light and music experience to three Berlin clubs past 11 p.m. M-BIA, PKH Warehouse, and MAAYA will host events throughout the festival period, offering a blend of techno, trance, and African music experiences.

Visitors can also choose from guided "LightSeeing Tours," providing routes to selected installations, with tickets starting at 22 Euro. Since its inception in 2005, the Festival of Lights has grown into a renowned worldwide light art festival, attracting over 3.5 million visitors and generating more than 800,000 additional overnight hotel stays.

This year's edition is dedicated to love, exploring various facets of the emotion through ten nights of artistic light displays.
