Andrew Fischer hits 50th homer and Biloxi forces winner-take-all

Andrew Fischer achieved a milestone of his 50th home run of the season during a 7-0 victory by the Biloxi Shuckers over Rocket City in the Southern League Championship Series game on September 22. This win put the Brewers' Class AA affiliate in a winner-take-all matchup for the Southern League title, scheduled for September 23 outside of Huntsville against the Angels affiliate.

Fischer, the fifth prospect in the Brewers' organization, also hit two other home runs during the regular season, the most ever in a minor-league baseball season since 1982. The Shuckers' left-handed corner infielder, Bishop Letson, was exceptional, striking out 12 batters while allowing no runs on four hits through seven innings, with a single walk.

Letson's 12 strikeouts set a single-game franchise record for Biloxi. Fischer, a first-round pick of the Brewers in 2025, contributed 20 home runs in Class High A Wisconsin, 28 in 72 games with Biloxi, and two in the postseason. The win was significant for the Brewers, as Jesús Made, another top prospect, opened the scoring with a RBI double in the sixth inning and stole a base in the ninth.
