Amir’s UN speech stresses Qatar’s commitment to peace and development: QC Chairman

Doha - Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani commended the speech delivered by Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly. The chairman highlighted that the address underscored Qatar's unwavering commitment to peace, dialogue, cooperation, and respect for international law.

He noted that the speech came at a crucial time, addressing growing political, security, and economic challenges. Sheikh Khalifa emphasized Qatar's dedication to resolving these issues through dialogue, mediation, peaceful resolutions, and international cooperation.

The chairman appreciated the emphasis on regional security, stability, and good-neighbourly relations, stating that the security of the Gulf and the region is intrinsically linked to global peace and stability. He also recognized the importance of safeguarding international waterways, ensuring freedom of navigation, and protecting global trade.

Sheikh Khalifa highlighted that dialogue and mediation are central to Qatar's foreign policy, not a response to any specific crisis. He praised the Amir's commitment to bridging differences between parties and facilitating the peaceful settlement of conflicts in collaboration with regional and international partners.

The chairman also praised the Amir's call for a just solution to the Palestinian issue and the establishment of a fair international order. He stressed that justice demands the application of international law and internationally legitimate resolutions, without discrimination.

Sheikh Khalifa underscored the significance of strengthening the United Nations and multilateral action, aligning with Qatar's National Vision 2030. He stressed the Qatari private sector's dedication to supporting the wise leadership in all development, economic, and political domains. This alignment supports the aspirations of the National Vision 2030, driving the nation towards sustainable growth and a vibrant, private sector-driven economy.
