2027: Kwara PDP names Ex-Buhari CoS’ son campaign DG

The Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has chosen Prince Omar Bolaji Gambari, son of former President Muhammadu Buhari's Chief of Staff Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, as the Director-General of its campaign organization for the 2027 governorship election. Gambari will oversee the party's governorship candidate, Engr. Suleiman Bolakale Kawu. This appointment came after a larger PDP leadership meeting chaired by Hon. Isa Bawa Adamu, the state chairman.

According to a statement from the PDP Publicity Secretary in the state, Olusegun Adewara, Gambari was one of the prominent candidates who participated in the party's 2026 governorship primary, which was won by Kawu. Initially, there were rumors that Gambari was unhappy with the process, but he later refuted these claims, stating he remained engaged in the party's political activities.

The PDP highlighted that Gambari's expertise in international law, finance, and real estate would prove beneficial in managing a campaign that encompasses various segments of the state. The party emphasized that this appointment marks another milestone in its preparations for the 2027 governorship election.
