SASKATOON — In the upcoming Canadian Country Music Association Awards, country artist Josh Ross and rising star Cameron Whitcomb emerge as the top nominees, each accumulating seven nominations. The competition will span categories like best male artist and single of the year, although neither is anticipated to grace the stage during tonight's event in Saskatoon.

Whitcomb, known for his stint on "American Idol," finds himself nominated for his track "Options," a poignant exploration of the struggle with alcohol addiction. The ceremony will also feature four artists—Sacha, Madeline Merlo, Tyler Joe Miller, and Brett Kissel—dedicating their renditions to the memory of country music legend Dolly Parton, who passed away from cancer at the age of 80.

Other performances include contributions from Dean Brody, Owen Riegling, The Strumbellas, and Saskatchewan-based talents Tenille Arts, the Hunter Brothers, and Jess Moskaluke. The event, helmed by James Barker Band, will be broadcast on CTV and Crave, kicking off at 8 p.m. ET.
