Fury’s uncle predicts Joshua knockout

Peter Fury, uncle and former trainer of Tyson Fury, has forecasted that his nephew Anthony Joshua might knock out his cousin in their upcoming bout, according to PUNCH Sports Extra. Speaking on the Fight Your Corner podcast, Fury only foresees two possible outcomes for the fight. Either his nephew outboxes Joshua, securing the victory, or Joshua lands a clean punch, potentially leading to a stoppage defeat for Fury.

"I have not really thought about it, to be honest. He (Fury) is either going to outbox (him) and he will get to Joshua or Joshua is going to find the target and he will clean him out. So, it is one or the other, is it not? So, we will see which one," Fury stated. Talks between the two men for the highly anticipated fight had stalled after their respective warm-up victories in July against Mariusz Wach and Kristian Prenga.

However, it seems the negotiations have resumed, with the event now expected to take place in Cardiff, Wales on December 11th. The fight, featuring both men vying for multiple titles, had initially been proposed for New York City, but Fury's side ultimately secured the venue. While the final details, including the potential early morning timing to accommodate a US audience on Netflix, are still pending, the fight is said to be nearing completion, marking one of the most significant events on the 2026 boxing calendar.
