White House launches 24/7 ‘Trump TV’ amid media ban, draws just 8,000 viewers

The White House has introduced a 24/7 streaming service called "TRUMP TV: The Essentials Station." The platform will provide a continuous feed of US President Donald Trump's speeches, past appearances, administration announcements, and other official videos. The service went live on Monday evening and can be accessed via the White House website and its YouTube channel.

The White House announced the launch on X, with the statement: "IT S LIVE. TRUMP TV IS STREAMING NOW. 24/7, updated in real time, with top past moments, announcements, and the latest and greatest from the administration all in one place. Not every big moment has made it on your tv, now it can." The platform will feature the administration's "biggest moments" along with "top videos, major remarks, and must-see highlights" and will be updated in real time.

The initial programming included footage from Trump's previous public appearances, including his 2025 inauguration. The launch comes amid the administration's ongoing dispute with major US news organizations. Earlier Monday, Trump defended the restriction of access for CNN, MSNBC, and Politico after those organizations filed a federal lawsuit challenging the move.

The three organizations are seeking to restore their access to the White House. Trump has defended the restrictions, stating that news organizations have an obligation to report fairly and that they are not entitled to access the White House grounds, briefing room, or presidential press pool.
