Two hurt as small plane hits the ditch on takeoff at weekend Manitoba air show

Two individuals were injured in an incident involving a small plane at an air show in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, on Sunday. The plane, during its attempt to take off, veered off the runway and crashed into a ditch at the end of the runway. Both the pilot, a 61-year-old man, and his passenger, a 54-year-old woman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been informed of the incident. Portage la Prairie, a small town situated 75 kilometers west of Winnipeg, hosted its first annual air show.
