Sophia Momodu shares struggles as pastor’s daughter, pregnancy stigma

Entrepreneur and mother of Davido's first child, Sophia Momodu, shared the challenges she faced as a pregnant daughter of a pastor in a recent interview at the United Nations General Assembly. Momodu, a daughter of a pastor, became pregnant out of wedlock by the globally renowned singer, which led to significant backlash and ridicule in Nigerian society.

She recounted how she initially lacked a voice amidst the negativity surrounding her story, but eventually found the strength to tell her tale publicly and connect with other women who had experienced similar circumstances. Momodu also revealed that an aunt had pressured her to remain silent about her situation, but she decided to speak out anyway.

She has since shared her story on various platforms, including in South Africa, where she discovered that she was not alone in her experience.
