GOP senator calls for Judiciary Committee to subpoena Donald Trump Jr., Hunter Biden

Republican Senator John Curtis of Utah has called for an investigation into Donald Trump Jr. regarding allegations that a Russian oligarch contributed to his wedding expenses. In a letter sent to the Senate Judiciary Committee, Curtis urged the committee to subpoena Trump Jr. to examine his business relationships, interactions with foreign entities, and any potential benefits derived from his connection to President Donald Trump.

Curtis echoed similar scrutiny for Hunter Biden, the son of former Democratic President Joe Biden. The senator emphasized that the country should not be subject to different standards for the families of Republican and Democratic presidents. The investigation follows reports that Russian oligarch Umar Kremlev helped fund Trump Jr.'s wedding, including a private island and fireworks display.

Trump Jr.'s wife, Bettina Anderson, described Kremlev as a "dear friend" who hosted the couple's celebrations. The president defended Kremlev's involvement but stated that the money would be repaid. Curtis accused the funding of being "corruption" and vowed to reveal more details in the future.
