Chicago Bears quarterback Tyson Bagent has been placed in the NFL concussion protocol, according to a source familiar with the situation. This development impacts the team's preparations for their Monday night game against Philadelphia. Bagent was anticipated to participate in the majority of first-team practice reps, following Caleb Williams' absence from Sunday's 9-3 loss to Minnesota due to a right hamstring injury.

Coach Ben Johnson indicated Williams remains "week to week" and expressed the possibility of Bagent playing against the Eagles. Should both Bagent and Williams be unable to play, Case Keenum may be called upon. The 38-year-old Keenum, the team's 2024 first-round pick, has not thrown a pass in a regular-season game since December 24, 2023, for Houston against Cleveland.

Bagent, 26, had a standout career at Division II Shepherd University before joining the Bears as an undrafted free agent in May 2023. During his rookie season, he completed 5 of 9 passes for 54 yards, recording a team-high three touchdowns and six interceptions.
