Karol G Reveals Why No. 1 Hit “BbY WOW” Almost Didn’t Make Her Album

Karol G’s “BbY WOW” has held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts for three consecutive weeks. However, the song almost didn’t make it onto her album, No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto. Karol G revealed in a new interview with LOS40 that the track was initially left off the album because she didn’t feel it was completely finished.

She had written the song with Spanish artists Judeline and rusowsky in January, but continued to feel something was missing as she explored alternative, indie, ambient, and pop-rock music during the album's creation. Rusowsky’s music, in particular, caught her attention with its perfect balance between alternative and urban sounds.

Karol G decided to add rusowsky’s verse to the song, describing it as "the perfect balance" and the cherry on top. Judeline also contributed to the track, bringing "something magical" to the table. When Karol received rusowsky’s verses, she immediately published the official tracklist. The three of them performed “BbY WOW” together live for the first time during Karol’s "Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour" stop at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
