2027: NDC begins mobilisation of polling agents nationwide

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has initiated preparations for the upcoming 2027 general elections by instructing state and Local Government Area chairmen to compile and harmonise party agents, according to a statement released on Tuesday. In a directive signed by the party's National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, the NDC emphasized that the process must be completed within two weeks and submitted to party leadership for approval.

The party spokesperson clarified that the lists would be scrutinized and ratified by party leadership, including the presidential candidate and his running mate, before the commencement of training. Notably, the NDC emphasized that the lists would encompass two distinct sets of agents: one for National Assembly elections and another for governorship and state House of Assembly elections. The party’s decision to issue this directive aligns with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026.
