Veep honours Nkrumah on Founder’s Day

Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang marked Founder's Day by paying tribute to Ghana's inaugural President, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, on social media platform X. Referring to Dr Nkrumah as an "extraordinary" figure, she highlighted his pivotal role in Ghana's independence movement and Africa's broader liberation. The Vice President called upon Ghanaians to derive motivation from his bravery, faith in African people, and conviction that the continent must reclaim control of its future.

"On Founder's Day, we honor the extraordinary life of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, a towering figure in Ghana's quest for independence and Africa's liberation," Prof. Opoku-Agyemang stated. She emphasized that Nkrumah's legacy should continue to spur collective endeavors towards realizing a Ghana that embodies his ideals. "Let us draw renewed inspiration from his courage, belief in the African people, and unyielding conviction that we must ultimately shape our destiny," she added. "May his legacy continue to inspire us as we work together to build a Ghana worthy of his vision."
