[UPDATED] Najib's home inspected as preparations for house arrest continue

KUALA LUMPUR: Police and Prisons Department officers conducted an assessment of Datuk Seri Najib Razak's residence in Jalan Langgak Duta today, as preparations for his conditional house arrest progress. Assistant Commissioner Anuar Bakri Abdul Salam from the Sentul police headquarters provided details of the visit. He clarified that while security arrangements were being finalized, the relevant order for house arrest had not yet been received.

Anuar emphasized that the Prisons Department would be responsible for internal security, while police would handle external security. He stated that no significant physical security measures were planned, such as barriers or fencing around the property. The house-arrest order, which permits Najib to serve his remaining sentence under house arrest until August 23, 2028, is subject to several conditions.

This includes a fine of RM50 million, which has not yet been paid, as most of Najib's assets remain under freezing orders.
