Tragedy as man kills mother in Abia community

A man, Livingston Nwakanma, has been apprehended by residents of Osaa Ukwu community in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State for the alleged murder of his mother, Mrs Nwaigbe Nwakanma, using a machete. Livingston, a known drug user and mentally unstable individual, fled the scene after the incident. The victim, a respected trader in her community's market, was preparing soup in her kitchen when her son attacked her, leading to her instantaneous demise.

The community is now in shock and grief over the tragic loss. Although the Abia State Police Command has not officially confirmed the incident, the victim's husband, Dede Nwakanma, has confirmed the unfortunate event, expressing his sorrow that his spouse was killed in cold blood. The husband revealed that his wife had been exhibiting signs of mental instability for the past four years.
